Easter Weekend
Easter always seems to be a great reminder of how much we have to be thankful for. We had THE BEST Easter weekend, jammed packed with so much fun and love.
On Saturday, we took her to an Easter Egg Hunt at our local grocery store, Mariano's. It was so well organized and so cute. She happened to find one of the special prize eggs and was the winner of a giant basket of (mostly Star Wars themed ha!) goodies. She had a blast. She can't get enough hunting for eggs (and eating the candy that comes along!) and she was happy to steer clear of the Easter Bunny. :) We spent the rest of the day out in the suburbs for Chris' track meet. It was absolutely beautiful out, and Olivia was the cutest cheerleader, ever.
Sunday was so beyond fun. Olivia woke up to find Easter Bunny footprints in our place and she was SO EXCITED. It was the cutest. She hopped right next to all of them :) We had another (all pink!) egg hunt for her at home, followed by our annual bunny pancake breakfast. And then, an impromptu egg hunt in the bathroom while she took her bath. :) Luckily, we were able to sneak in a nap for her before we headed to Indiana to see all of my extended family. She was wiped.
The weather was absolutely perfect and we had such a wonderful time visiting with everyone. The biggest highlights were another (all pink!) egg hunt and "the park" aka, my cousins' gigantic yard :) She was so sweet holding onto her little basket, twirling around all day. The Easter outfit I originally bought for her got scrapped for a new tutu within minutes of purchasing it. And I'm so glad. This get up couldn't be more perfect for her right now.
Watching her dump out all of the candy was so fun. She kept saying, "I can't believe this!" and "this is a lot of candy!" After eating a watermelon Starburst, she told me "mama, I just ate the best watermelon candy I ever had." I almost died. Seeing everything through her sweet little eyes is just the best. She was so spoiled by all of our family- I think she ended up with five baskets-- and then some! We are so blessed to have so many people who love on our girl so well.
Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays and this year definitely didn't disappoint. We're already counting down until next year! Thank you to all of our family who helped make the day so special for our sweet girl.
I hope all of you had a beautiful Easter weekend!
xoxo
